Default Resealing headlight problem

Having major issues resealing my headlights...

I've cleaned out the old sealant and put new sealant back in and the lens simply won't go all the way back into the track on the headlight. Does anyone have any tips for putting the headlights back together or has anyone run into this problem before? Also what's the longest a headlight can be in the oven at 220? We've been doing 8 minutes but maybe if it was in longer any remaining sealant that is blocking it from seating properly would loosen enough to make it easier.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

This is what I do when I'm taking headlights apart. Should work the same for resealing.

I heat a oven to 250*F - turn it off and put the headlight in on a piece of cardboard. Usually soaks in the heat for fifteen minutes then I swap headlights and work on the first one as the second one heats up.

Clamp until the adhesive sets.
