So as I was leaving my street on 9-7-2011 I was hit t-boned by a lady who fell asleep at the wheel around 6:30am. I was sitting at the entrance to my neighbor hood and I was getting ready to turn left when I saw her lights coming over the hill. She never slowed down and I could do nothing but brace for the impact as she slammed into my rear passenger side door. They estimated she was going 59 mph. Once she hit me my back end whipped around to where the front of the car was and she continued into the trees that were to my right originally. I was not hurt had a few scratches but nothing major. EVERY airbag deployed which I seemed to witness in slow motion. The sleeping driver was ejected from her vehicle into the woods. I had to climb out what use to be my window to check on her. She was bloodied to hell but was breathing. When EMS got to the scene they asked me where the person in the Lexus was and they couldn't believe that I was in that car. The Lexus saved my life. I am thankful that my son nor my wife were with me because they always ride in the back and also I am thankful that it was to early for the buses for school to run.
Amazing story, glad to hear you're alright. I'd also like to see pictures of the wrecked IS, particularly what the interior compartment looks like after such a collision.
It is terrible to hear that your car is gone. I can't imagine... It is great to know that you are OK as opposed to the other driver. Hope things will get straightened out soon.
