Not sure of your mileage, but make sure your maintenance is up to date - engine air filter, spark plugs, etc.

Check your tire pressure.

As has been said, driving habits can make a big difference. Accelerating smoothly, reasonable highway speed, and not running with the A/C on when the weather is cooler can help.

I enjoy taking my car to its full potential now and then and I like to hear the exhaust. But most of the time I don't follow to closely, I anticipate red lights, read the ground (up hill, down hill) to take advantage of momentum, less braking. My car and my wallet thank me for that.
