As if having holes in my front bumper wasn't bad enough already my bumper hole is in the shape of a nipple/volcano. I've done my research and found various solutions. I'm on a tight budget so I decided to go with bumper plugs. The problem i'm having right now is i'm not sure if these plugs will look right in these nipple shaped holes... Anyone have these same kind of holes? If you ended up using plugs, could you post up some pictures so I could see how they look? I thought about maybe sanding them down a bit but i'd be too nervous to do that.

It does look good but no where did I see him mentioning his bumper having the "volcanoe" type holes. His holes could have been just normal and flat because it appears that way.

I haz the same thing. I cut them down a little with a razor blade. Then I painted them with touch up paint. Then i wrapped my hammer in a towel and hit them. Didnt go down at all. So now i just leave as is. Thought about bumper plugs bit I have 4 holes and it'll look ghey.
I'll get the bumper replaced or filled and painted later on.

The dealers are the ones whom make the license plate holes so if you have 4 then it's the dealer whom got the car in brand new whom did the ***** up. I found this tidbit out when looking at new cars...

Yap!! lol! The dealerships (where front plate is required) need to do it. Yes, the cars from the factory do not come with it. Only way to stop them is for someone willilng to purchase, needs to get to request it way before it gets drilled, or get a fresh one.
Also not sure if this is still applicable, but Federal Law (which supersedes state law) saids that import/foreign import cars which were not designed to have front plates (like ours for instance), are not required to have them.
US made cars, not applicable since they have by design a built-in licence plate mount.

^^ Lol. I'm immature.
Anywho, OP, I have those weird protruding holes too. They're extremely hard and cannot be pushed back into the bumper. It's as if someone tried to yank the bracket/screws out without completely unscrewing them first. The problem with sanding is that it will definitely damage a greater surface area of paint that a bumper plug won't adequately cover. I just painted my bracket white and will deal with it until I decide to have the front bumper repainted.
