Let me start off by saying, I did use the 'search' function. I came up with a bunch of good brands like Python, Viper, and even Clifford. As I was reading the threads, it seems like remote starts are a lil difficult to install on the IS. I also noticed, that other Lexus models offer authorized Lexus remote starts, but nothing for the IS...I wonder why?
So I went to my local tint/aftermarket part store and the guy was telling me about Avital Remote Start Systems. Has anyone heard or used them before? He said it would be around $350 for the product and the install. He also mentioned that it was a DEI product just like Viper and all of the other name brands. He also said that I would still have to carry my Lexus fob along with the remote start fob.
Has anyone installed a remote start system recently (within the last 9 months)?

I installed python 591 hd on my 06 IS a few months ago. You also need the dei bypass for the immobiliser. You do need both the remote start fob and the factory fob.

I had checked out the python earlier, and I like how the fob looks. Does everything work and function as it should?

Avital is junk. Get autopage rs1100. U need idatalink ads-al-ca for the push button bypass.
