Default Tpms

So I purchased a set of tpms from OEWheels on ebay, and he had excellent feedback from the sensors working. I took my car to Discount Tires Direct and they said they got it programed and they told me I need to get on the highway and let the car reprogram itself after being reset. I need to be going atleast over 15mph for a period of time. Any thoughts or idea if this is true or not? They told me that the vehicle did take the programming and was successful. Please help me...BTW its a 2008 IS 250 with a set of vossens

Our TPMS have to be programmed in unless theyre the stock ones. Discount programmed mine for free last week after they mounted my tires. Once they are programmed in, then you have to drive for a little while for the car to recognize them. Also, be aware you have a "main" and "2nd" TPMS option, they put mine on the "main" but my car was clicked on 2nd, so i thought they didnt do it at first... haha.

How long do you have to drive? did it keep saying low tire pressure or system check?

Something sounds off. When my tpms was programmed the system check light went away immediately. I think you should try and mess with the 2nd and Main options.

It's when you remove the sensors that it takes 50 miles for the system to throw the error.

bought a new set of OE TMPS from Lexus, had lexus program that in my car as a 2nd set. 1st set is for my stock wheels. No driving for a while needed. Just clicked to 2nd set no issue.

yesterday when I first took them in to get it programmed the light was saying low tire pressure, then I went back today and now it says system check. The "manager" also told me that I need to take it back to Lexus because they probably had a better system?!

Ok those guys don't seem to know what their doing, you should get your money back. Did you see them put the sensors in your wheels? I don't understand how it read low pressure with sensors that weren't programmed.

Why did you buy new sensors?

You're right. Its Discount Tire who told me to drive around, and i believed it because it was on 2nd, not main.

When my TPMS werent programmed, it would randomly between start-ups from "check system" to low tire pressure. Never really understood it, but mainly it stayed on "check system".

Okay just got back from Discount tires direct. I went to a different location apparently they had some idiots working at the first one I went to. The second one I went to fixed the problem and the car started up with no lights on. He said the other shop did not sync it up once they scanned it, and that's why it kept throwing all those codes.
