Tint Shop Refused To Tint My 2IS

I got all windows tinted for like $125 with lifetime so that's a bit of a steep price, but my local shop is pretty pro with tints since there's a bunch of car enthusiasts in the area. They had no problems with the tweeters, they didn't even mention it.

I just got mine done today...no problems from tint place....and they only charged $164 for lifetime...and that was for 35% which is lowest i can go legally in AL...and wife didn't want to go any darker

Ok you all Lexus enthus! What is exactly the legal tint. For what my friend, a Highway Patrol officer tells me, tint is a tint and it is illegal in Ca. If you get pulled over and the officer has nothing else to do but to harrass you about, he will issue you a fix ticket for tinted windows. I got one but got it removed/signed off.
Now, tint can be very expensive depending on where you go and the quality demanded by consumer. While in Tijuana Mexico I got my tint done all around for $50. Not 100% perfect but
%98.I am happy because all I was concerned was taking care of the interior (all leather and plastics) That's my #1 concern. NOt how perfect it is. This guy did not remove any panels. What he did was place the film on the ouside windows to take a perfect measurement and then carefully placed them on windows. It was about one hour tops for all windows. I am happy with the results. I am keeping cooler, seats and all appreciate it much.

That's ridic. My tint shop did mine for $180 w/ the lifetime warranty. I have dark all around (not sure the percentage). The shop did an excellent job cutting the tint and it fits perfectly even around the tweeters (without them removing the door panels).

I donno about you guys but my place did it for me for 220$ and also they did all 4 with the back window 20% all around and they popped my door covers off in like under 30 seconds lol

I have never had a problem and I have had "illegal" tint on every car/truck I have ever owned. I always go 20% front, 5% rear, except on the truck its 15% on the front and factory on the rear. If I ever get a ticket, so be it. I will pay it and move on...but 99.9% of the time, if you obey the traffic laws you will not have an issue, and if/when you get nailed, you are polite and respectful to the officer, it goes a long way towards helping the situation.
I mean, I got pulled over doing 83 in a 65 in my civic, with illegal tint in NEW YORK STATE and the officer did not say a single word about it, my HID's or my exhaust. He wrote me my speeding ticket and sent me on my way. I am not saying sometimes people dont get tickets, but the way I look at it, if I CHOOSE to have illegal tint on my car, thats MY choice, and as such, its MY choice to accept whatever consequences come along with it. A fix-it ticket?
Whats to say you have to fix it? I would pay it and move on.

Technically its illegal to get anything darker than 70% in CA, but most shops will just warn you, they won't refuse to do it. $300 for what I understand is only the passenger and rear window + your wife's gti all around? That would be a pretty good price. May I ask which shop this is?
I'd recommend you go somewhere else. 2 places i recommend and have been to are Omega Tint in Pleasanton, Vince does EXCELLENT work, pricey, but well worth the money, but last time I called hes pretty busy. I had my WRX done here and never had any problems with the tint.
The other place is Best Image in San Mateo, price is VERY good, I took my girl's Honda Fit there, I got my price quote for my IS250 for $165 all around. I can't say their work is better than Vince's at Omega, but tons of people here had their tint done by them and they liked it.
