Navigation Randomly Losing Location

Hi all, I have a 08 IS250 and like a lot of others on the forum my navigation screen stopped responding one day. Luckily my car is CPO and I was able to get the screen replaced under warranty. However, since they replaced the screen there have been multiple occasions where the navigation randomly loses my location. I recalibrate it back to the correct location and it will work fine for a couple of days, and then it will randomly lose my location again.
Now, I've read threads from a few years ago with this same problem and it had something to do with the older models not having the correct GPS firmware and needing an upgrade of their navigation map dvd. One thing I have noticed is that the map on the new screen looks different than the map on my old screen. So, the only thing I can can think of is that maybe when they put in the new screen that they didn't put in the corresponding correct navigation map dvd which is causing the navigation to lose my location.
Anyone experienced this or have any ideas?

I think it's way more likely that the GPS antenna wasn't connected properly when the unit was replaced. I'd suggest just bringing it back to the dealer for diagnosis.

The bug in the 2006 navigation systems was in the software, not the hardware. Unless he has an original 5.1 disc, it isn't that problem.

Just to clarify what brociouz, it could of been a new unit they had lying in the warehouse which was probably produced back then. If this is the case, they would owe you a free update.
Check your map version to verify that it is the bugged version which is currently loaded.

The invoice that they provided me said that they only installed a new screen. So, I'm pretty sure I still have the original navigation unit in which the software should be fine. Either way I'm taking it back to the dealership and having them fix whatever is wrong. I'll give an update on what they find out. May take a couple of days because they are absolutely clueless at this particular dealership.
