Siri and Lexus 250/350 owners
Hey guys, I just got an Iphone 4s. And using siri is pretty amazing, especially when playing songs etc. Voice command is one thing i wish i had in my lexus and now i think we can kinda have that. For all of you that dont know, siri is voice command for the iphone. Example: play viva la vida, or direct me to Blank's house and it will. It is really accurate. Im thinking for the people who have an ipod integration kit, that they could use it over the speakers of the car? Id be really interested in knowing if it works, if it does ill buy an ipod integration kit!
Thank!
Thank!

There are voice commands, but they are very limited, and as said before dont work that well, with me at least. With siri you could play a song, reply to a text, send a text, go home, look up pretty much anything. I have an 06 250, and if i could get this to work id be pretty happy.

I upgraded to the iPhone 4s from my iPhone 4 (with ios 5) and now I am having problems connecting to the stock system using a2dp. The iPhone 4 had no issues whatsoever. With the 4s, the phone connects using the phone profile but the stereo no longer can connect. Not sure if the issue is BT 3.0 or the BT stack in the 4s.

siri is pretty much a big help if you wanna used it with your audio in your ride,it's intellectual and ability to understand your voice is better compare to my stock voice command where is limited only on specific words, siri is like you have a passenger that will answer you every time-

I have a 2012 Lexus IS250 with the Nav system, and ipod/iphone connection. My iPhone 4S DOES work over the car's speaker system to interact with Siri! I have the 4S configured to connect bluetooth for calling as well as for streaming music via Bluetooth A2DP. I'm not 100% sure how the Siri interaction works (whether via the bluetooth cell phone connection, or if it's due to the A2DP profile connection).
When I push the 4S home button to bring up Siri, she speaks over the car speakers, and responds nicely to my commands. When interacting with Siri, the car's Nav screen shows much like a phone call would. Only wish there was a way to bring up Siri using the car's button on the steering wheel rather than having to hold down the iPhone 4S's home button - but hey that's not too bad.
I was very surprised when I found this out!!!

I do wish I could activate Siri without touching the phone.
