I found one! but...
OK...Last post I was asking your opinions about an 07 for less than 20,000 with navi which was pretty much impossible to find. I found out I was approved for more financing so I am thinking about an 08! I found a nice 08 but its only 1-2k less than the price dealers are asking. My question is...I went to a Lexus dealer and they offered me a 3 yr/100k (Price 29,000/38k) warranty but the warranty looks like BS. Anyone else buy an IS recently with the 3yr/100k warranty? what was your experience? Thanks for your help. BTW here is a link to the 08 I am looking at: http://www.globalautosports.com/car/...dan-39099.html

Wayyyy to much for an 08 IS250.
That's $28,000 for a car that has 42,000 miles on it. And if your buying it from that place, the warranty is not the 3yr/100k Lexus Certified Pre-Owned warranty....probably just some shady used car dealership warranty. I got my 2007 for around $21k with the Lexus CPO warranty, only had 38k miles on it too. Sure this one is a model year younger with nav & backup camera, but that doesn't add $7k to the price.
Look around, you'll find better deals, look at the CPO vehicles at Lexus dealerships if you want a good warranty too. Avoid places like this!

Of course they are gonna drop the price. Its part of the game. Keep searchin for what you want though. It does have the Lux package thought which would make it a tad bit more expensive than the regular IS's your gonna find. So maybe that's why its a little higher than normal. You can find a cheaper one even if its a hundered miles or so away.

The 3 year/100k mile warranty is called a Certified Pre-Owned Warranty. The Certified Pre-Owned vehicle concept is common to almost all car manufacturers. What in the world do you mean by "the warranty looks like BS"? It's the best warranty you can possibly get on any car that isn't brand new. It's nearly comprehensive, covering pretty much everything except maintenance items and body/trim pieces (full coverage info can be found through Google or the Buyer's Guide thread in the 2IS FAQ). It runs for 3 years from the date or purchase OR until 100k miles. This CPO warranty is only available on cars sold through Lexus dealerships, as they have to undergo a 161-point inspection.
I have no idea what you mean by it looking like BS, since it's an extremely comprehensive and valuable warranty, backed in full by Lexus.

Is the car from the lexus dealer a CPO car?
All CPO cars comes with 3yr/100K miles warranty (standard)
If you REALLY dont want the "looks like BS warranty", they usually can take it off and give you a ~$1K discount....
IMHO, the warranty is the BEST part getting a CPO....I really dont know why you think it's a BS.....

Seriously... look at thesecond picture of the car in the link. The reflection shows someone standing in a bathrobe taking the picture. Run, run far away from that dealership and go to a Lexus dealership for the Certified Pre Owned warranty.
I just paid 30k for a 2009 CPO IS250 with less than 4,000 miles. Yes that is right, less than 4,000 miles.

Omg
But that link isn't to a dealership now that i look at it, global autosports looks like a site for people/dealers to list their cars for sale.
That ad doesn't seem to be a dealer though, If you google the number on the ad it shows up at what looks like some at-home health services business.
Still, walk away from it! lol

WAIT WAIT...you got it all confused...the car i was looking at WAS NOT AT A DEALER it was a PRIVATE SELLER. In ADDITION I went to a dealer and found a similar IS. I was wondering if I can go to a dealer to get a warranty after buying this from the private seller. OR is the CPO only from a dealer? How much does it cost to get a car CPO'd?

I'd prefer buying from a private seller than a dealership since you have more room to negotiate. :P
Keep looking though, there's always better deals out there.
I bought my SGM 07 IS350 (In fairly good condition - one door ding, and the very little wear and tear, just the OEM front lip was a bit scratched up) with 27,xxx miles, navi, sports package, on it for 24.5k. Asking price was 28k but my family was paying cash, so it wasn't really an offer he could refuse. Haha.
