overzealous dealer servicing
Got a call from my local dealer claiming I was due for another service. I told him I haven't reached my miles or six months yet and he replied back it's 5000 miles and every four months. I told him I didn't think it was that fast, but at the time I wasn't positive. End phone convo. Later that day I looked it up of course and it's 5k/6 months.
So.... Mr. Serviceman is trying to get people to come in sooner or too often for added business? Or just an honest mistake? I wonder how many quiet old ladies from Pasadena he's gotten to come in prematurely.

Typical dealership tricks to get you in the door most likely! I'm sure they know the interval is 6 months/5,000 miles.

I receive and appreciate the reminder in the mail. You can always say no. Not a big deal. As for the old ladies I am sure they drum up business but they also provide a service because the old ladies could go 3 years without servicing the car if not reminded and that could cost them a lot more in the long run.
