Preferred tire for long life and great handling even in rain

I'd like to hear more debate regarding this point on these tires. Anyone else with first hand experience that can speak (in detail) to the rain performance of the V12's?

Yea I have V12 to and they are cool on the dry. I do think they suck in the rain though. Yes my tires are inflated properly. I understand that they are supposed to be good in the rain. In all fairness it may jus be the way I hit the corners. They never let go when I'm going slow. If you even think about givin it a little gas to hear your exhaust around a corner. Trac control comes on instantly. Overall I would buy again givin the price of these are good.

I also got Hankook and they are "alright" as well for the price. After 20K miles with them on, they're really noisy now and they're no longer gripping the road as they use to be.
Nothing spectacular as some of these member make them out to be.

Go for Potenza RE760 hand down from tirerack. I will replace the oem tire next time.
I currently have used on my other honda w/ 50k ... will last till 80k (w/ rotation). I had used 4 sets of the previous old model RE750. My experience w/ these RE760/750 is great handling perf in fully wet !

I think its important to note that there is no one "best" tire. There's too many variables between different cars and different drivers.
How you drive your car, how to maintain your tires, the kind of surfaces you drive on, and a lot of other things go into how long your tire may or may not last. Even a tire that is tested to handle well in the rain won't handle well in the rain if its improperly maintained or worn. Same goes for how long it will last, even one with a high wear rating (which varies from different manufacturers) will wear quick if they aren't properly inflated or aligned correctly.

Many people have found that the standard alignment on an IS wears out the inside edges of the front tires in 20,000-35,000 miles. Does anyone have any experience trying to claim a credit on a treadlife warranty when this has happened? I saw that the Continental ExtremeContact DWS has a 6 year/50,000 mile treadlife warranty but they want you to rotate tires every 6-8k miles (does this mean just left to right on an IS?) and they may find issue with "wear due to improper vehicle alignment" even though you could be within factory spec.
