Puddle light install
Hi everyone,
I have a 2010 IS, and am trying to install blue LED puddle light.
Just wondering, is the following video still working for 2010 models:

I wasn't able to locate the 2 clips so I wasn't able to remove the mirror.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

You have to pop off the mirror glass first. Then unscrew the four screws on the corners. You can take off the front plastic or the plastic trim to pull out the light assembly. Be careful putting the mirror glass back in place, I accidentally cracked my driver side glass months back changing the puddle lights to LEDs. I pushed the middle too hard and it shattered in my hand.

I had trouble popping off the mirror glass; do you just use use force to pull it off? This video make it seem like it comes off really easy but mine was really tight .. and when I sticked my fingers behind the mirror glass I couldn't find any clips or anything ....

Depends on the person lol. I was able to pull it out easily. To make things easier, go adjust the mirrors all the way up so on the bottom, you got room to stick your fingers behind. Now pull the bottom of the glass outward with some force but not too much you bend your glass. As soon as you hear a "snapping" sound, let go cause it came off the bottom clips. Now just pull the glass down and it'll slide off the last clips.

I tried pulling out of my 11 but did not have luck.
I did try to pull and did not have luck. Also tried to look with a flash light but did not see the clips even thou I had it the mirror pushed all the way up.

Puddle lights bulb change
Ok I did this a month ago this is what you need to do.
1) Turn the mirror all the way up
2) Using both hands slide 2 fingers from each hand at the same time through the bottow of the glass and pull upwards but towards you ....do it using the same force evenly until it pops out, this may take a bit of force but dont worry it will pop.
3) Once popped remove the mirror carefully because it has two plastic things that hooks with the housing upper portion.
4) Remove phillips screws and using a plastic tool (I used a credit card) separate the housing from the top and work your way around the housing until it is all loosed up.
5) Remove the bulb housing and change the bulb to your LED but make sure to test that it works before you put everything back together (correct polarity).
6) Once you have assembled the housing put the screws back on tightly secured
7) The glass is a f-ing pain in the a$$ to put back, it just wont pop back into place and after trial and error I figured out a trick for this......take some VASELINE and dab the areas in which the mirror engages into the housing and the housing itself, this will make the mirror slide right in with little or no force but make sure you push it in until it pops back in place.
Congrats you just did it on your own.

Dorkacho,
Nope, still could not. It's at the Lexus dealership in Canada as we speak as I am in their VIP waiting. Since the service advsor knows me, they are doing it for a good price. If I were to do it at the US dealership, they were going to price it for an arm and a leg!
