As wise people said, test drive the car you want first. Pick the car the suits your need. If you can't stand it from being slow, consider the IS350. But if you don't feel that big of a difference and can settle with an IS250. Then get it if you like it... IS250 is well equipped with standard luxury options which would have cost extra of you move to other premium brands.

Sure, IS250 is slow, but compared to what? I came from Corolla and Civic LX crowd... IS250 felt ALOT faster. Hell, it'll even smoke a base RSX with auto. RSX auto feels like it had a bad lag... my wife got smoked by a Prius in her RSX

Anyway, I got the IS250 because I really don't speed. I just need a car that's fast enough to get me on the freeway, safe, good gas mileage, and it's fun to drive. The RWD is a plus too... try getting around a really tight parking and you'll find the understeer of a FWD really annoying. The IS250 meets that...

Juice14g tried a couple of 0 to 60 runs going downhill (I don't know what grade). The best time he achieved was 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds.

I also agree with everybody who said to test drive first. I test drove MANY different cars before I finally purchased mine.
It's not like you have to commit to anything when just shopping around - just be honest if you're still looking or haven't found exactly what you want.
Depending what you are after, the G35 and the 350z may be good cars to test drive also.

You really couln't find an IS350 for under $30k? I bought my 2008 IS350 last October with 8500 miles on it for $28.5. I also got the sport package which is loaded quite well.

He probably could have but he wanted one specifically with less than 30k miles and he's in PA lol.

Why does everyone always want to race EVO i have couple friends with EVO 8,9 and everytime they tell me when they come home from work at least one ricer always rev and try to burn out at the light. IS IT JUST AN EVO THING LOL!!

The Si does feel a bit bigger inside than the IS at times. However in other ways the IS is a bigger car....if that makes sense.

Speed wise, the Si was lighter, higher reving, and a bit quicker.

The IS250 feels a bit faster from the torque of the V6, yet it is a bit heavier.

I wanted a nice auto car that was sporty so I went with the IS. My Si's had a totaly different purpose!
i never sat in an is before soo hopefully its bigger then my coupe si
the civic has huge windshield so im guess that why it looks bigger in a way LOL

Don't sweat not having the F-Sport package, there's plenty of mods out there for you to do, and you can do F-sport upgrades yourself if you want as well. Just don't plan on adding much power, it's not gonna happen lol

You will definitely find a IS250 for under $26k with low miles and with navigation too. I bought mine, 07 (white with black interior) no nav, but only 38k miles and Certified Pre-Owned for around $21k
WHAT HOW CAN YOU FIND FOR $21K
i kinda made my budget high! i really want to only spend like around $24-25max

Also what you guys think buy from dealers or private owner??

thanks everyone
the only reason i dont want the 350 is because of the low MPG.. AND I DONT REALLY NEED ALL THAT POWER 0-60 IN 5 SEC.but it would be good but i read that city driving really hurt the MPG!! And i ALREADY HATES MY SI MPG I GET AROUND 23-25 ABOUT HALF AND HALF CITY AND HIGHWAY. i know its not that bad 23-25 but idk im really picky HAHAH i read that the 250 gets around the same 23-25 mix.

HAHAHA GOING DOWNHILL

^ For 24-25k you should be able to get a CPO IS250 without a problem. You should be able to get a used IS350 private sale with not too many miles in that price range too.

There's advantages and disadvantages to buying from a dealer or a private owner....off the top of my head...

Dealer:
Pros: Vehicle is usually inspected and serviced, Usually some sort of warranty, only way to get a Lexus CPO car, easier to finance a car
Cons: Higher price, harder to negotiate, don't get a feel for who owned the car before

Private sale:
Pros: Cheaper, easier to negotiate, get a feel for what kind of person owned the car before
Cons: Harder to finance, usually no warranty (unless there is a transferable one)

It really depends on how you drive the car. Some 350 owners are averaging 30mpg highway. Of course the numbers are lower with city driving..but its not too bad. Personally the way i drive with my IS250 the lowest i've gotten is about 25mpg doing mostly city driving, and i usually average 30-33 mpg on my commute (90% highway) but i do have a little fun with it still =] I've seen 350 owners say they get as little as 15-18mpg (Even lower sometimes ) in the city, but i've also seen some that say they can get 20-25 in the city. It's all on how you drive it

I have the best of both worlds I guess.....and just got the 250 over the weekend for $17k w/ 61k miles on it from a Lexus dealer. They had it for over 3 months, guess no one wanted the desert sage LOL . What a deal that was!!

Its not so bad , course i drive slow and EVEN OLD LADIES pass me on the hwy's
