I have the best of both worlds I guess.....and just got the 250 over the weekend for $17k w/ 61k miles on it from a Lexus dealer. They had it for over 3 months, guess no one wanted the desert sage LOL . What a deal that was!!

It really depends on how you drive the car. Some 350 owners are averaging 30mpg highway. Of course the numbers are lower with city driving..but its not too bad. Personally the way i drive with my IS250 the lowest i've gotten is about 25mpg doing mostly city driving, and i usually average 30-33 mpg on my commute (90% highway) but i do have a little fun with it still =] I've seen 350 owners say they get as little as 15-18mpg (Even lower sometimes ) in the city, but i've also seen some that say they can get 20-25 in the city. It's all on how you drive it
i like to cruise on highway going around 65-70mph all the time. im pretty sure ill will get the same MPG as my CIVIC or maybe more after what i been ready
^ For 24-25k you should be able to get a CPO IS250 without a problem. You should be able to get a used IS350 private sale with not too many miles in that price range too.
There's advantages and disadvantages to buying from a dealer or a private owner....off the top of my head...
Dealer:
Pros: Vehicle is usually inspected and serviced, Usually some sort of warranty, only way to get a Lexus CPO car, easier to finance a car
Cons: Higher price, harder to negotiate, don't get a feel for who owned the car before
Private sale:
Pros: Cheaper, easier to negotiate, get a feel for what kind of person owned the car before
Cons: Harder to finance, usually no warranty (unless there is a transferable one)

For most people, the dash rattle isn't a one visit fix. Same goes for the carbon build up, it usually builds up again.

thanks everyone
the only reason i dont want the 350 is because of the low MPG.. AND I DONT REALLY NEED ALL THAT POWER 0-60 IN 5 SEC.but it would be good but i read that city driving really hurt the MPG!! And i ALREADY HATES MY SI MPG I GET AROUND 23-25 ABOUT HALF AND HALF CITY AND HIGHWAY. i know its not that bad 23-25 but idk im really picky HAHAH i read that the 250 gets around the same 23-25 mix.
HAHAHA GOING DOWNHILL

The IS250 gas mileage isn't all that great. I got the 250 loaner and only averaged ~22MPG on a full tank.

Either you accept the Vector FX2 figures on flat land (0 to 60 in 4.5) or reject them on grounds of potential miscalibration or outright deception (maybe he's actually going downhill for those 4.5 runs).
If you accept the 4.5 figure on flat land, it's not unreasonable to believe that another .3 seconds can be shaved off going down hill.

no i can see 4.5 with 25psi, low gas, no spare and cold air BUT~ that is the exception... hell if you want exceptions look at the 1/4times guys put up AFTER pulling out the passenger seat and all those things you mentioned...
Ferrari does things like that too when they post times for their cars, when customers cant replicate those times they say all kinds of 'we dont know what kinds of conditions/skill of driver' excuses, did you know they provide TWO different cars on press day? one for the track and one for the strip... so shady... and thats what these is350 times are.. not a real representation of what the is350 NORMALLY does.
Dyno sheet posters on supra boards are notorious for doing these kinds of things, 1600hp on street gas, do they actually drive such a car? No its only for that one pull to post the sheet...
