Default Need Help [where to sell rims]

I am new to the Lexus Forum and posting threads, but figured I would give this a shot. I bought a new 2011 IS 250 this weekend. I had a 2008 IS 250, and rims that I wanted put on my new 2011. I now have a set of 2011 factory rims, but not sure how to get rid of them. I have been to several "resale" shops who will give $80 for the set of four and the Lexus dealership offered $200 for the set of four. Is this normal? I have posted on Craigslist and Ebay, but not real sure what a fair price is to list them at. I know they are worth more than $200, but I really want to just get rid of them more than make money off them. Any help here? Does anyone know what a fair price to ask for these rims are, and are there other places to try and sell them besides Craigslist? Never sold anything on Craigslist before either so new to that as well. Thanks for your help.

Try our wheels/tires classified section here on CL. Might need a vouch though

welcome to CL: you can post them on the classifieds once you "qualified" to post

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is2...-for-sale.html

4. High dollar sales. Members who have recently joined our forum or those members with less than 300 posts (regardless of join date) who post high dollar items for sale may have their threads closed or removed due to the increased risk to our members. High dollar items are generally those over $500 but may be set lower based on our classifieds moderator teams discretion. All members selling high dollar items should be prepared and proactive in offering references from other CL members who know them, on other forums, etc. This is referred to as a 'vouch', and the voucher must post directly and publicly in your for sale thread.

Moderators and members may ask for vouches to make sure someone who is known to our Club Lexus community knows the seller and/or has inspected the item being sold. Vouchers for high dollar sales are expected to personally know the member you're vouching for and will need to commit to be personally involved if there is any issue with the sale or product being sold. The member selling the item is reponsible for proactively contacting the vouching member and having them post in their thread or PM the moderator who closed their thread requesting a vouch. Don't wait to be asked, as your thread may be deleted.

just hold on to it while building a relationship with CL or keep it posted on your local craiglist or ebay, you cannot tell maybe the person who wants your wheels doesn't have money yet

those resale shop will offer you with the most minimum amount thay want to your wheels so they can profit on it when they sold them,so the best option is to sell it to a person who need it directly

Thanks birador your advice sounds solid. Do you know what those rims go for? I don't want to rip anyone off, especially if they are like me and new to the whole buying and selling of after market parts. I have been told $200, by an OEM rep. but that sounds steep. Not looking to hose anyone. Just trying to do my homework.

you know what, here in illinois someone on craiglist is looking for IS wheels,i don't know if he's loking for complete set i,e, wheel and tire for 600 budget regardless of year and condition, honestly it depends on the condition of the rims, and your rims are practically new, just post it with the maximum amount you want and make it OBO-

Used OEM rims with not so great tires usually sell for about 5 - 600 around here... your practically new should sell for a bit more. GL man

I would say about $600 is average for wheels+tires. But then again, yours are new so maybe between 600-750 would be fair?

I have an offer for $750 right now which sounds reasonable to me. It also sounds about on average with what you all are saying. I appreciate the comments. Thanks for helping a newbie out.
