Jbl ms-8

Well my buddy owns a shop and I got it for 600.00. I think it sells for 999.00 but this thing is an animal and you will probably need some professional installation. The tuning on this is incredible but the MS8 is a lot more user friendly. But if your looking for the best sound Bit One for sure.

I tried the MS-8 in my non-ML with NAV. I've responded in a few threads about it around here but you can read about some of the main issues I had in this thread:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lex...rnal-amps.html
In short, if you have a non-ML, non-NAV system it's an option to consider, otherwise don't bother with it.
I moved on to the Bit One and have never looked back. Like others mentioned, if you dont know how to tune a system then the Bit One can be a little overwhelming, but the capability it offers can't be beat by any other processor currently on the market.

If you have NAV, then don't get the MS-8. If you don't have NAV, then the MS-8 should work fine but you may or may not like it.
I've heard the MS-8 in a few other cars and for the most part it does a decent job. Its auto-tune feature does a very good job with imaging & creating a high centered sound stage, and it tries to impart a tonally balanced tune on your system, which in theory is what you want, but most people like/want more low end mid-bass and sub-bass response in their listening preferences than the MS-8's "tonally balanced" tuning algorithim creates. That's where most of the complaints about the lack of tuning capability on the MS-8 come in. It's hard to get that prominent low end presence back into the mix. If you're a basshead, you won't like it for sure.
Good deals on MS-8 can be found if you look around. It's cheaper than the Bit One, generally.

I found one for $450 brand new on ebay
is it worth it?
or just stay away from it all
Bit ones look so complicated to use...and I also read mix-reviews on it as well
so im lost ...
I was at a certified JBL audio install place and they were preaching this product to me.
did some research and it sounds like a great idea....but worth the price?
let me know or i will just stay with my aftermarket sub hook up

Answer this question first... Do you have NAV? if yes, then DO NOT BUY THE MS-8
2nd question... at this certified JBL dealer, do they have a unit installed in a vehicle that you could listen to and decide for yourself before you buy? Otherwise, they're just trying to sell you stuff.
Sonic Electronix has a "make offer" option on the MS-8 and have been accepting offers of ~$460 with free shipping lately. Amazon also occasionally has the MS-8 listed as low as $439 with free shipping. (I bought my MS-8 for $439 from Amazon way back). Both of these are authorized dealers, so you have a warranty and could return it if necessary. I'd go either of those routes over a feebay listing, even if it is new.

Just an update: for the last few mornings when I start my car my 3 ways will not play but my rears do? When I turn my car off and back on it kicks them on. It is really weird. My Bit One only controls my fronts so I wonder if it is my amp or the Bit One I am going next Friday to have them check it out.
