See what all you can get fixed under warranty. Stop worrying about cost to repair, yet.

2) The front passenger window only goes up automatically; it does not go up manually when I lift the window button half-way. Cost to fix this?
Ask the dealer about both issues. Not sure about #1 but #2 is definitely a problem. If your in service date was 2008 then you're still under factory warranty, so the cost to fix both issues is zero.

Take the car in to a dealer and have them fix 1) the window issue, 2) the windshield molding, 3) the smoke issue if there is one, and 4) have them do a general pre-purchase inspection.

It doesn't have the luxury package. It has premium package, which only includes heated/aired seats and wood trim. Lux pac has rear window shade, rain sensor, HIDs, illuminated door scuffs and some other stuff I can't think of off the top of my head.

It also is missing ML. It's just a stock base one. So all this car haz is premium package, with Nav.

Vroomin - Not yet, but I plan to check both tonight when I get a little bit more free time.

p0lo8 - TSIBs? And how do I check for sure if the car is still under warranty? It doesn't tell me on the lexus website even though I registered the car already.
You got good responses from good people because you came in asking questions very methodically. A good question deserves a good answer, and that is what you got. Good Luck!

based on the price and condition & mileage of the car its a pretty good deal. engine noise is normal on all 2is. the rust might be due to the weather/condition where you live or how the car is stored. everything else seems minor.

seems like a good deal since you can get things still fixed under warranty but ill point out two things seeing as how I have an 07 IS, if you plan to spend alot of time on here get an 09 or an is350...09 has more features like the turn signal on the side mirrors and i think thats when the USB input started and even the updated tail lights. Other members chime in if it started in 2010. The is350 is a much better engine. However if you dont care about speed/pick up the is250 is a fine car as well...i try to tell myself I dont care lol. But an 08 probably gets you tons of bang for your buck since the 09+s are probably holding their value best after some minor modifications by lexus.

I can't hear it in my cabin either. Maybe if the windows were open.
