My bad. By better I meant: right now I am all stock, but I will be lowering with H&R springs and I was wondering which tire setup would yield the best looks/finger gap and performance, etc. I certainly do not want any rubbing, etc.

I will be ordering these tires today; so just wanted to make sure. Thanks !!

ps. and I found it weird how 2 shops actually recommended the 235 and 275 setup, rather than the 225 265 .......

others and i have given you suggestions, so take the time to go back and read up.

better yet, take the time to figure out tire sizing so you can decide for yourself what sizes you want/need.

that way, you're not at the mercy of others because you're getting different suggestions.

Do people typically change their shocks when dropping on H&R? I just read a couple posts about how one should never get aftermarket springs without replacing shocks along with it. If so, what kind of shocks are good with H&R springs? Thanks ..

So this is the final setup that I went for, and I just put these wheels on today:
F 19x8.5 32
R 19x10 38

F 235 35 19
R 265 35 19

However, I think I am getting a little rubbing when I turn in big angles - is this possible? I am not even dropped.. weird . . .

yes, it's possible.

235/35-19 is taller than 225/35-19. the slight difference in height will cause rubbing at maximum steering angles - it's the shoulders of the tires that are rubbing against the fender liners.

you can either ignore it and wait until it rubs a hole in your fender liner, or you can do the "heat gun and re-shape the fender liner" DIY.

for the record, i did recommend 225/35-19 several times in my previous posts. i don't particularly care why you chose differently, but now you see why i made said tire size recs.

Thanks for your inputs! Should I modify the fender before or after I drop on H&R? Since now I am rubbing a bit, would the rubbing get worse after the drop ?

Yeah, I remember you recommending 225, but the shop keeps on saying tire will be too stretched on 225, so I went with 235

lowering your ride height just means that it'll rub in an area higher up along your fender liners (not to be confused with your fenders, which is sheetmetal).

sure, my advice doesn't stack up against what the tire shop says, but look at where your tire shop's advice landed you.

if you're not going to spend the time to figure out things out for yourself or at least heed the advice of others, don't bother asking. seriously.

You should have went with the 225/35/19 with that front wheel spec. I have done a lot of research on a similar spec wheel and many people have reported mild rubbing. They advised me to get 225/35/19 to avoid this rubbing. Your best bet now would be the heat gun mod. I dont understand why they kept telling you that it's too stretched. The wheel width range is 7.5-9 on that tire spec. So it would not be stretched... Maybe confront them and explain this to them, and maybe they'll give you a discount on the 225/35/19?

Not to be rude, but if you're coming to the car community asking for recommendations, and more than a few people go out of their way to explain everything to you... Why did you go and ignore them? Yes it will rub more when you lower your car, you are decreasing the clearance between the tires and the fender even more. You may actually damage your fenders if you hit a big enough bump. If you're contemplating getting springs and struts, why not just get coilovers so you can adjust your height to exactly what you want?

So I heat guned my fender, and now no more rubbing

However, one more question for you guys: given my wheel and tire spec, after I drop on H&R if I have a total of 4 adults (with myself included) in my car, would the weight lower the car enough to cause any rubbing? I usually drive by myself most of the time but ocasionally do take passengers.
