55w is too bright and stepping into some legality issues. Also the HID’s would not last as long as 35w so that is something you may want to consider besides possible heat issues if the housing cannot handle it.

2: Should this slim kit fit in the stock housing?
3: 35W 6000k okay?
4:What the hell is this dual harness for $15? Do I need this?

Thanks!
1. no, not a problem at all with 35w.
2. not sure what you mean by fit in the housing. but i have only installed hids in car and placed them on the frame or some place else. maybe somebody else can answer this.
3. 35w 6k is too blue for me. i would stick with 5k to get the most light but still have some blue. 4300k is the whitest light.
4. that my friend is the relay they offer.

I bought an eBay kit that was 35 watt slim ballast and it fit into the headlight housing. Looks great and took me about a half hour to install. I've put kits in many cars, have never used a relay, and have never had issues.

plenty of people, including myself have used the ddm slim kit HID's.

They're cheap and have a lifetime warranty. I think a few people on this forum got it to fit into the headlight housing, so no drilling.

I keep mine on all the time, and I haven't had a single issue with them. 6000k, 35w ftw.

i'm reading all these different installation procedures. Does anyone have an instal DIY with pics of the slim kit? Does a HOLE need to be drilled? I'm reading that you can keep the dust cover and NOT have to drill a hole?

I don't see why you would need a DIY guide for the slim kit...They're identical to the regular kits, other than the fact the ballasts are thinner. Instead of mounting the ballasts wherever you were planning to, just stuff it into the housing. If it fits, great; close the cover and you're good to go. If it doesnt fit, then you need to drill a hole in the cover to run the wires through. The covers are cheap anyways. I had mine drilled and sealed it with a rubber grommet (provided by DDM) and some silicone. When I switched to s2000 projectors, I just bought new covers, which were like 10 bucks. Not that big a deal...
