How high is your windshield?
Hey guys,
I recently replaced my windshield because of a crack on my 2008 IS350. Now it's not that quiet any more with noise that sounds like wind turbulence against the glass . The installer had tried a second time and still the same noise (maybe little quieter). I was at the dealer looking at the cars, but only checked the gap between the windshield and the roof.
But now I think the windshield is set too high. I attached a pic but can't really see too well; the top of the glass is about even or little higher against the top of the roof. I'm wondering if your cars are similar or lower or by how much? I don't want the installer to simply take it out and put it back in again to see if the noise goes away ... if I can see if this is what's causing the noise.

Just had mine replaced too. Also think it looks really low, but no wind noise (that i've noticed at least). Maybe yours is just too high?
Here's a pic. This is OEM Lexus glass btw...
Was yours OEM glass too?

Here is a pic of mine. A couple of points I need to mention:
1) You may notice in the pic that the glass is not smooth on the top edge. The sublet did a ****ty job on the installation, but that happened before I owned the car so I just used it as a point to make the salesman lower the price on the car when I bought it. The windshield is not officially Lexus. It is "Parkinson" or something.
2) I know for a fact that the windshield on my car sits too low because the VIN number is not aligned with the opening on the windshield, enough so that it makes it impossible to read the VIN at that location (also attached a pic of that, though it is hard to see).

Lol, Parkinson's Windshield. Thanks everyone. My replacement windshield is Pilkington, not OEM. Right now my VIN lines up perfectly, so moving it will misalign it a little. Maybe this brand is just a bad fit for Lexus.
Geico wouldn't change with OEM unless I pay the difference of $850. A friend of mine mentioned that I might be able to use my comprehensive coverage instead of glass and pay the comprehensive deductible to get OEM ... not sure about that.
I'll make another appointment with the installer to see if he can lower the windshield to help with the noise. thx

I had my windshield replaced. make sure that the installer pushed down on all the clips. visually it looked down but i still got wind noise, pushed harder and heard clicks on a couple of the 10 clips.

Pilkington glass is pretty much standard for non-OEM installs. It won't be as quiet and you may have trouble with the rear view mirror staying attached. I see about 30% comeback with the mirror hanging from the wire.

so the installer come out today but refuse to refit the windshield. He basically says the seal is good, but I say it needs to be lower -- he said there is a stopper at the top that keeps from going lower (not sure if that's true), and he said if it goes lower it will make more noise ... I'll try to talk to my insurance see if I can get OEM or at least get the installer or another one to try one more time.
