Damn, sorry to hear about your situation. Fixing this gonna be expensive, when my 350Z got rear ended...the repair was $15K, and it's not even that much damage....compare to yours....and since this is a Lexus, the part will cost more.

Go to a salvage yard or recycle parts store and get fender, bumper, headlight, and other parts that you can install buy yourself. Then bring it to a good shop to have them fix "ALL" other mechanical, you can't be stingy about this part....it's the price that you have to pay owning this kind of car.

Sorry for your accident.
Don't tell your insurance - they may put you in a higher risk catagory even though you didn't make a claim.
Hope you can find some parts from this site.

dude, im not gonna lie to you. Thats like 15k + worth of damage judging by the photo you provided and your description. It may be a total loss. IMO saving 6k over a year is not worth the 15k + you need to pay for the repair now.

Best of luck to you sir. It pains me to see the picture. On a more positive note, im glad your alright.

Owww, that looks really bad but you're okay so that's the good thing. As for your insurance it might go up since the other party will for sure make a claim. Hope you get the car fix.

I feel your pain. I had a similiar situation happen with my 90 Twin Turbo 300ZX (R.I.P). My guess is your looking at about 8k. Did any airbags deploy?

Wow sorry to see that. Thats easily over $10K worth unless you can find parts from an Auto Dismantling. There are plenty around my area but dont know about Chicago.

Sorry to hear. Last night I was looking at your plasti dip rim pics. I read a post by you yesterday saying you have liability and that your going to take it nice, slow and easy so you don''t cause a wreck. Pains me to have read that yesterday and then see this today. The most important thing is that your okay. I can only imagine how angry your parents must be 0_0. I am the same age haha.

Sometimes people cause accident on purpose even if they could have avoided it. Its America, the country where people like to sue everyone for everything.. Hope the other driver doesn't give you too much grief. I have been at intersections where light has turned red and I am in the middle about to turn when car from left or right suddenly floors it hoping they can hit me.

Hope everything works out. Keep us updated!

The other car could be speeding, but looking at how you got hit on the front, it would consider your fault.

I used to not have insurance on my 2000 Civic for 5 years, then it was stolen (recovered a day later). I did the math and the money saved on not having insurance for 5 years vs completely losing the car is about the same or less. So I just tell my sister to get insurance for the car after handing it to her.

I had my passenger side window smashed (the window frame was also slightly bent) and that alone cost $2500 to fix.

It's probably going to take $8k-$12k to fix your car. Should've gotten full coverage.

Great to hear you are OK. I can't stand looking at that photo. I hope something works out for you. Unfortunately these things happen.

Sometimes I feel people do this on purpose as well. Messed up.

You should have your parents under your car insurance. It's a lot cheaper and you get full coverage. Talk to a lawyer, there might be a chance he can find your way out. I feel your pain and i think the other party is speeding because if they drive 25mph (minor streets) no way your front will look like that.

Doubt it. He is at fault because the other party has right of way. There is no way around that.

It looks like your car might be total depending on how much damage there is underneath the hood.
