When to wax a new car?
Hi, I bought myself a lexus is250 as a graduation gift. I got the car a week. I'm thinking about waxing my car. Some people told me that the car was waxed by the dealer before delivery, someone said the paint may be not completely cured yet. Anyway should I wax the car? Thanks!

If you take a look at this link and scroll all the way to the bottom it says "RECOMMENDATIONS AND PRECAUTIONS IN THE FIRST 90 DAYS
DON'T · Do not wax or polish the vehicle. This will allow the finish to dry and harden completely"

Wax it! Don't take a buffer to it. But get a good carnauba wax like P21S to apply by hand(http://www.autopia-carcare.com/p21-127.html). In a few months apply a liquid wax/sealant as it will last longer. Carnauba wax will probably only last 2-3 months max while a good liquid wax/sealant can last up to 6 months.

It's fine to wax a new car. Many dealers do it as a prep. Even if not, keep in mind the car didn't drop from the sky to your driveway........it was built (takes some time), shipped (quite likely from overseas), probably parked at a port for awhile, then sat on the dealer's lot til you purchased it.
Waxing a freshly repainted body panel/car from a body shop, on the other hand, is not ok

I recommend zaino products as far as wax goes
Meguiars ultimate wash and wax soap
Lexol for your seats
303 aerospace for your dash
simple green for your wheels
Meguiars tire gel (smells like grape) for your tires
invisible glass for your windows
and I'm probably the only person that does this but I use downy dryer sheets to keep my car smelling fresh. I stick them in the sides of my doors and they last longer than any air freshener.

Zaino user too for many years on the paint and their leather conditioner.
I spray a piece of cloth with leather scent from ChemicalGuys.com and place it under the front seats for a nice light leather smell.
