Dude, it's the same as you putting the IS-F bits in your 2010. Or me for that matter. The later model F-Sports just happen to share some of the hangy stuff under the car as V8 units. It will be fine and improvement over stock 06 unit.

You should install it and let her drive it. The car will drive itself a lot easier in a straight line.
GL!

I agree. It will feel more stable at higher speeds and who knows, if she enjoys the steering feel when the car is set to ECT PWR, she might catch the mod bug and ask you what else you can do to the IS.

so.. I have just installed it.. (those connectors are a pain in the ****!) relatively easy job other than that. Had no check engine light, no calibration. As far as I can tell driving a couple of miles, the steering wheel has definetly stiffened up and especially in power mode. I can't tell how i will feel after a while if I will just get adjusted to it but so far so good. Might get it calibrated soon but so far no issues and no lights!

I've been using mine since almost 5 years now. It was off a 2010 ISF that a CL member upgraded to a 41. It has never been recalibrated since installed. As of now no issues related to any power steering issues of any kind.

wow so you used the old cars callibration to no ill effect for 5 years huh? interesting... maybe i will try it for a bit and see if i can get the same results as you and save some dough by not getting it recalibrated. five years and no issues with old cars callibration is an awesome achievement as most have recalibrated their old and new isf ecu's.

As @MikeFig82 stated, if it works and there are no issues (steering, codes), no need to re-calibrate. The calibration is the same across the 2nd Gen IS/ISF lines. Only a new unit would need calibration

I am currently trying to buy a gs300 would I be able to drive it home? The seller says the steering wheel is locked and it has a p/s light on. Here’s a pic with more details

Same here. I have had mine for a few years now and have not had a need to get it calibrated and am not experiencing any issues.

It really depends whats actually wrong with it. The person selling clearly doesn't know cars or what any of those parts are. That's red flag right there.

Plesse start a new thread thread GS300 section

If the anti-theft wheel lock is stuck on. No.
If the car has no power assist, you stand a good chance of crashing. You should have it towed for safety of others...

Just saying, the install itself will be relatively easy (it's just under the battery), however I'm not sure how DIY friendly it is, since you'll likely need a dealer to do the initial calibration after the install.
