New To CL From S.Africa
Hi CL,
New to the forum, I am from S.Africa
Bought my 08 IS250 last week.
It is manual and need assistance.
What is the correct RPM to shift up
Gears.
I noticed that when I change from 1st
To 2nd gear the car like nose dives which spoils
The drive.
Not sure hw to post picz

i shift at 3000 rpm. but some people said u can shift at 2500 rpm to save a little gas.... yea it gonna make some noise shifting from 1-2 and 2-3.
if u can. get the quick/short shifter from lexus. it makes a big difference!
if your car is nose diving between shifts, than you are riding TOO HIGH!! might want to drop it just a little. dont have to slam the car like everyone else

There is no correct rpm to shift gears. You can choose whenever you want to shift. It's all your own driving habits. I shift pretty late usually around 4k rpm. If it's nose diving, someone already said you're dropping the clutch too fast. Take your time and ease it out there. Don't worry, it took me some time to be able to drive smoothly. And post pictures! We all want to see your ride!

What he said ^^. To upload pics to CL, create a photobucket or flickr account, upload the pics to that website and then copy the url of the pic and then paste in the box that pops up when you click the icon that the arrow is pointing to in the pic.
