I have Geico and haven't seen a rate increase. My 6-mo policy renewed about 2 months ago.

Anyway, I've found that your premium is pretty negotiable as long as you have a good driving history and you let them know there are other options.

Thanks for all the comments. I was paying $100 a month and then they add $30 to my premium. I was getting some nice discount from them, but the official response was the cost of repair/occurrence of accidents in my area is what caused the spike? I'll be doing some shopping around! BTW, I have a good driving record. I qualified for several discount.

USAA if you can get it. Best service, by far, and best pricing from what I've seen.

But comparing pricing with other people is pretty useless unless they live the same place you do, pricing varies greatly both state to state, and even within states depending where you live.

You can still shop if you pay for six month blocks of insurance. You notify the insurance that you are terminating the policy and they will send a regund check for the amount of unused insured time thst was canceled.

This is so true and I just experienced it first hand. My situation was that my wife and I moved out of our apartment and into her parents place (her parents are old and could not be alone any more) we basically moved 6 miles away and my premium dropped by $200.00. I even went ahead and called Geico to make sure I did not change my coverage as I changed my address online. They told me no that since I moved to Coral Cables and not Miami my rates droped.

lmao!

I also had Geico before owning my IS350 and going from a 2010 Acura RDX (Turbo) to my 2011 Lexus IS350, my rate increased about $150-$200 every 6 months. I'll be shopping around this weekend
