Default recall under warranty

i dont know the details exactly. but my friend who works at lexus told me he has been busy replacing piston seals on is250's under warranty. so who ever has a is250 with weird noises coming from the engine might want to check out what they can get done under this "recall"

Thanks for the heads up! I was wondering what that noise was coming from under the hood. Hopefully it's the "recall" you're talking about

is this for all IS250's, up to 2011 or a certain year?

Unless things have changed there's no recall here. (and recalls would be free regardless of warranty anyway).

There IS a TSIB (which does require warranty) for the carbon build up issue however that involves engine work, which might be the message from your friend distorted a bit by the telephone game.

This might be the TSIB for carbon build up

In the US I"ve only heard "side seals" on rotories... only "rings" on pistons
