Default Should I go for a vented hood? Anyone got pics or have a vented hood?

So after getting into an accident, my hood is smashed up and not closing properly anymore so I'm needing a new hood. It seems that CF hoods on eBay are cheaper than the factory hoods so I'm going to get a carbon fiber hood and get it painted. I don't like the look of it on black cars. But I'm seeing a vented hood on eBay just a tad bit more and I'm debating if I should get it. I just don't feel right spending cash to get something that will end up being the same as before. However, I don't know if it's going to look good on my car. Anyone got pictures of CF hoods on a 2IS? Also, are vented hoods bad? Would water get into the engine bay?

Looking at this hood for about $500.

For me, I'd get an OE styled CF hood instead.

I like vents on hoods, but all the options out for the IS looks very ricey to me. If they could make a simple one like the one rookieIS is referring to, or something along the line of the m3, I would be totally down to buy it.

I don't like it but get it if you like the look of it.

Side note: do vented hoods serve any functional purpose?

No, I don't really like the design of the hood. However, there isn't other options out there that are affordable and fits my tastes. The thing I hate about that vented hood is the huge middle vent. The one that is on the IS-F is nice but it'd have to be custom-made if possible.
