LOL. My dealer mounted and balanced my *aftermarket* wheels. They're one of only 2 places that I actually trusted to do the job

Yea dealers aren't exactly the place that knows everything about our cars. Heck, I'm willing to bet most of us knows more about our cars than majority of the people who work for Lexus dealerships.

I went in to get my powersteering checked out since the light came on and the steering was stiff. The manager asked if I checked the powersteering fluid and said maybe the powersteering pump is out. FYI, our cars powersteering are electric, therefore no powersteering pump.

Thats odd they didn't want the money.... Maybe they had an issue in the past where a tech screwed up someones aftermarket wheels..... Thats the only reason i could see them refusing money.

You guys are looking at this from our point of view not theirs. Most Lexus dealerships do not deal with alot of factory options like different wheels even though they do offer them to their customers. As far as the aftermarket wheels and mounting tires on them, most will not do that because they do not want to be responsible for having to replace or pay for any damage that may be caused.

Whos what when where? Jokes on whoever would call a stealership in the first place to ask prices for tire mounting.

Often times things like oil changes and tire mounting can be the jobs that get the car through the door so they can try to upsell you on other services, which is why a lot of the time they are actually priced relatively competitively. Most dealerships around here cost about the same or less for mounting a set of tires.

It will definitely depend on where you are and which dealer it is, but in my opinion, it is the fool who doesn't call the dealership, and pays more to get it done elsewhere. (I see this happen often).

Bigger joke's on whoever tries saving $50 (if that much), just to have an incompetent shop ruin a $2000+ set of wheels.
