when i go into reverse most of the time i can hear a very audible click noise after the transmission has engaged the gear and i have begun rolling back. also when i hold 1st gear and shift late in the rpm range going at lower speeds do i hear the click. any thoughts?

I've got it too , the reverse click .

you can hear it very clearly if you open the door and put it into reverse , I've never done a transmission oil change ( which never should be done according to many experts here ) .

Hope it's nothing serious .

I've always heard this on my 08 is350 as well... My car has 29k miles, how often are you suppose to change the transmission fluid?

Never, It's a lifetime fluid in a sealed transmission. Says so at least twice in the owners manuals.
