Lightbulb Hello Club Lexus!

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum, this is my first post! I just wanted to say hi. A lot of my friends think IS is a guy's car, but I think it looks quite elegant with girls, too! My dad just bought me a pre-owned 2010 pearl white IS250, I love it!

For my Christmas presents, I am buying a used set of wheels and tires, as well as used H&R springs from my friend, he used to have them on his G37. He also said he will work on my fender for me, whatever that means. These are the specs he told me:

F 19 x 8.5 / 32 (235 / 35 / 19)
R 19 x 10 / 38 (265 /30 / 19)

My question is, will I have rubbing issues if I do this plus the H&R springs, if I have my family (dad, mom, older brother) in my car? I'm not sure how much the spring will lower the car, but I heard it's quite a a bit..

Any suggestions? If this is o.k setup then I will post pictures when it's done. Thank you all !

Welcome to clublexus.

1) Rims / tires / offsets will work on the car - ran same tire sizes on my 19s and they were more aggresive offsets
2) H&R springs from a G37 wont work on our car
3) you may* have rubbing issues in the front when full lock (there is a small dimple you can heat gun to get rid of this isse) , but other than that, you should be ok

Post up pics!!

Welcome to Club Lexus! The specs on the wheels are good. I would suggest using a 225/35/19 tire in the front. I believe this will help you avoid rubbing. And I agree! I always tell my girl friends they should get a white Lexus with tan interior IS of course.

I just called him , and he said the springs are actually from his cousin's 2010 IS350, and said it would fit since they are the same year model. So after heat gun and drop on H&R this combo should not cause rubbing even if I have a full car, right?

I will I will, once this is done At least the car came tinted so I did not have to worry about that

Yuppp. should be good to go. I dont think you need any fender modification. Just heat gun the linear and push back on that dimble (its closest toward the cabin, no the front of the car)..

congrats on your new car! the 2IS is definitely not a "guys" car.. in fact many said that they're very feminine! but each to their own.

since you will be lowering your car and putting bigger wheels on (both the springs and wheels should work fine on your car), make sure to take extra caution when going through bumps and up your driveway especially with your family in the car!

welcome to the Pearl White IS group!

you just got the car and is slapping on springs + Wheels?! can i say BALLER?! lol, j/k. Post some pictures of your ride after the install.

i dont think you will need to roll your fenders, and i wouldnt roll your fenders unless you MUST. i think you are only going to rub on the plastic behind the foglights. that will eventually get rubbed away.

BTW... the IS is unisex. it depends on how you hook it up.
