Unless the gas places are not accurately reporting the correct amount of fuel being filled on the pump which would be illegal - then this is differnet story and you can actually take action if this is actually the case.

It will be different that yours. It's based on the recent mileage he's been getting. If he is a light-footed driver in a warm climate and takes mostly long trips on the highway, it could be much higher than yours. If he's a leadfoot in snow country who takes mostly short trips, it could be much lower than yours.

Bottom line -- your issue is that you were getting about 26-27 miles per gallon, and now you are getting more like 21 -22. Some of that is due to cooler temperatures and winter blend gas. It's also possible that you are making more short trips, or that traffic is heavier.

PLEASE STOP LOOKING AT YOUR MTE. It will ALWAYS be different depending on driving habits... It's a guess by a computer.

If your needle is right at E .. AT MOST you should be filling 15 gallons. The tank is 17 gallons - 2 gallons are reserve - when the needle is exactly at E, your MTE will say "zero miles" ... that means there are actually 2 gallons left in your tank. I've talked to people going 30-40 additional miles past zero but you SHOULD NOT do that. it's a reserve amount for a reason - you don't want your tank completely dry exposing the fuel pump ...

The computer "miles remaining" is just an estimate based on your driving habits/previous tank mpg/etc.
correct u are getting a worst mpg...

Dont go by the dash display go by the actual mile you drive on the full tank. Cause i get 331 full tank but my average mile per gallon say 24. So do the math 331/17=19mpg. Then if you go by the average per tank it say 24. So you multiple that by 17 gallon =408mpg on a tank. As you can see it just an average not exact on what your getting.

YES... Exactly. An yes it's normal!!!'

It changes EVERY time you fill up. Last time I filled up mine was 400... Yesterday it was 350. Changes every time as the computer adjusts to your driving habits/climate/gas blend. As I said before - mte is just a GUESS by the computer of how many miles you can go.

If you want to see the ACTUAL miles you drive use your ODO.

It has been garage kept during winter seasons for 4 years and since I moved...I'm starting to drive during winter and because I'm not familliar with the mte changes during climate and etc. you can't blame me for bringing up this topic. All and all I appreciated everyone that put there inputs and comments on to helping me reslove my issues/concerns. Thank You all! I am worried free once again on my lexus. Merry Xmas and New Year to everyone!
