To be clear, the GS430 had a timing belt. The GS350/450h/460 all have chains (as did the 06 GS300).

Jeff, not sure if I've asked you this before but does the IS250/350 engine suffer from broken chain guides?

I've never seen one or heard of one, so I don't think it's common.

The only timing issue I've seen is the rattle on startup really.

i would never buy a car unless it has a timing chain.
