My first accident :(
This morning (12:40 am) I was driving my sister and her boyfriend to the train station... I took a left turn too quickly and ended up slammed against the back of a Budget truck rentals...yes the big one. I have pictures of course. We were all fine but i ended up pinned down and had to crawl out of the passenger side. The car did turn on (with some trouble...grinding, maybe battery problems dont remember i was in shock) and i was able to back it up for the tow truck. Based on experience do you guys think it might be a considered a loss?
btw look at the back of the truck... my car actually shifted the truck about three feet to the right... no one was on the truck according to police it was abandoned but im still at fault..thank god for full insurance.

Holy smokes! Your car looks like it was attacked by a can opener! I'm glad you all are okay. It looks like if you just replace the door skin and fender most of the damage is solved, the quarter panel is a different story, then you have the airbag issues. I've seen a 2IS completely totaled left to right. That car saved the drivers life for sure!
On second thought, it looks like there's alot more damage beneath the surface; door frame, jambs, noticed the a pillar and roof is dimpled. I don't know bro.....

Chances are, since the airbags deployed, it's going to be a complete loss. I believe it's up to the insurance company, but I've heard that some companies will almost automatically total a car if the airbags deployed.
Although it just looks like your side airbags went off, so I dunno. IMO with that kind of damage, I'd WANT it to be totaled, so you just replace the whole car.

Glad you're alright, that is one heck of a scrape against your car. It's definately totaled. I'm still confused on how making a fast left cause you to slam onto the truck on your drivers side?

Don't think I was going faster than 30...maybe 35.. When I turned the tail began skidding to the right so I turn the wheel hard to right. And ended up spinning to my left. Truck was illegally parked there. I would have hit the wall.
