Default No green start light without pushing brake pedal very hard

A few days ago I started to notice that to start my car I had to press the brake pedal down extremely hard. This happens on every start now regardless of how long it has been between. If I don't press hard the green light does not come on at all. Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions?

2007 is350 btw.

Thanks

Could be the key fob battery dying. Try putting the keyfob directly in front of the start button and see if it lights up when the car does not light up.

Yeah I thought of this and tried the second key. Same thing. I also tried replacing the battery in my main fob.

Is the problem that the light isn't turning green when the pedal is depressed the same amount as usual, or is your issue that the brake is unusually stiff and hard to press before the car is started? If the latter, have you been driving in conditions that activate the ABS system a lot?

The problem is the light isn't coming on at the normal point. The pedal has to be pressed further.

No I have not slammed on my brakes in as long as I can remember.

The vacuum booster for the power brakes may not be retaining vacuum when the engine is turned off, making the pedal very hard to depress. Check the vacuum booster and vacuum lines for leaks.

try to put the keys near the push start and then press the brake pedal.

Same thing happened on my '07 IS350 a year ago during the winter. Normally, the light goes on just by pressing the brakes lightly but when it got cold, I had to press the pedal hard and down farther just for the light to come on. It ended up being a vacuum leak that went away on it's own.

Just started getting this problem today. I had not done anything with braking system lately...this just started out of the blue. It doesn't seem to me like normal booster failure, as during normal driving the pedal does not sink to the floor. The fluid level is max, fresh OE fluid, and no leaks. The ONLY thing I did find was that the vacuum line that leads the plastic IM was not 100% pushed all the way onto the port. It was connected with the clamp there, but I was able to slide it up more.

The hose is perfect...but the connection onto the port on the IM could possibly be problematic. How can I tell if in fact there is a leak at that connection? Wish Lexus had thought of using a check-valve in that hose!

I had this problem happened since 10/2010. Have to press hard on brake pedal several times to see the green light ON then I can start the car. Feel like it's the sensor issue.
