Default please help fast, question about buying used IS250

Should I buy a Lexus IS250 2006 with 140,000 miles for $13,000 ?? Is 140,000 miles Lexus still pretty good or considered too much miles ?
I brought the car to a offical Lexus dealer (i'm buying the car from a small dealer) and let them do an overall check , they said everything is fine and perfect, except for the coil leaking which might cost me around $600 to fix. ( and im fine with that )
I really love this car, but the milage is so high. That's the only thing stopping me from buying the car now. So, should I buy it or not ??
Please help me !!

These cars run strong and I know there is a member on here with more mileage. If that's your budget and the dealer says it checks out good then I'd say go for it. Can you get maintenance records?

I'd pass. No modern car is made to last that long.

My friend has 200K miles on his 06 350, and it still runs smooth. As long as the previous owner kept up to date on the services, it should be fine.

I wouldn't be comfortable driving something with that many miles that I didn't rack up myself. You never know what the last owner might have did, save a little more money and get yourself a brand new one.

Pfft 130k miles is nothing. Toyotas run forever IF properly maintained.

Check KBB.com for value of the car. Doing a quick look, a 06 250 IS with 140k miles, if it had luxury package and was in excellent condition, should be around $11,400 private party value. With known mechanical repairs needed I'd guess around 10k is fair price.

don't do it.....if you cannot afford the car with ALOT fewer miles, then pass and wait. You amy run into problems not knowing who/how it was driven....newer cars have alot of electronics and other complex things that can break.

^ what he said

A couple years ago, I bought a 2001 S2000 with 120,000km for $12,500

Even though I got an inspection and everything checked out fine, there were parts that needed attention only a couple months down the road.

If you want to drive a car where you don't have to worry about anything but your insurance and gas and/or monthly payments, I'd recommend against it.

It'll be worth it for the peace of mind, especially when you don't know how they drove the car and the previous owner(s) driving habits.

Yes, the car should be good for many, many more miles. Unfortunately, routine maintenance and repairs on a higher mileage car like this can run $1000-$2000 a year. If you can't afford that, you should look for something more modest with fewer/less miles.

It seems like a pretty high mileage car for the year, One good thing about a car like that it is pretty hard to get the kind of mileage like it has in so few years without a lot of highway driving. Most of the highway miles are pretty easy on engines and tyranny's. How are the tires? brand new tires on a car at a dealer might be a sign of a suspension problem that the dealer is hiding. Is it pretty tight to drive, few rattles, does it track straight while driving and letting go of the wheel? Did they check how much brakes are left? If you like it and can talk them down to $10K bank the other $3K for repairs and go for it. With a car at this price point you have the ability to save a lot of money on insurance and registration too.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

I would pass. Especially if you are looking to keep the car for a long time and invest in it as far as mods goes, and definitely if you are taking a loan out. Might as well take out a bigger loan for a car thats half the mileage of that. It would really blow if you are still making payments on the car a few months from now or a year from now and the car starts falling apart.

Go for it $13G and room to talk down. Unless you wanna spend 10-13g more. Money saved will exceed minor thing that need to be fixed. My friend bought is300 115k for 6g and in 3yrs owning it not one issues.

I think 13K is a bit high price, if you do make sure the car is fine and really want it, try to talk to the dealer to get the price lower. they probably only paid 6,7K for it. lol
