Should I worry or have you guys gotten mpg this low before?
TANK AVG fluctuates a lot at the start of the tank because it doesn't have much to go off. So if those first 30 miles by your wife were driven hard, then yeah, the mpg will be low. Or, if you coast down a hill right after filling the tank, you can probably make it go up to 45mpg. After more miles, it will average out. You can also use the AVG display which counts since you last reset it by holding down the DISP button.

Dang, you guys are not making me feel good about my purchase last night. I was hoping I'd be getting an average in the 20s for my soon-to-be iS350. You guys are talking averages in the 17 or 15 range. OUCH! My vette was getting over 19 average. Sheesh.

Wow. I hope I am not headed in that direction. The 328i that I had before gave me 18mpg consistently in the city and I thought that was horrible. The 22mpg I was getting for the is350 in the first place gave me some hope. Oh well, the joy of driving does outweigh the mpg issue.

Winter fuel blend, your vehicle's MPG will take the hit regardless of vehicle. The effect is noticable at city speeds while at freeway speeds not as much depending on your driving routes/habbits.

My IS250 AWD, it dropped to about 17-18 MPG from the about 20-22 MPG which I had from my daily communite (which also includes a mountain). Now that I have the my IS 250 RWD, its currently about 20-22ish, from the 22-24+ MPG.

Since I also do drive long distance from time to time travelling from Seattle, going to Vancouver, Canada. Can tell you constant cruise control on the freeway driving about 110+ miles / 177 km distance from full tank, the needle dropped to the exact same place in both RWD/AWD cars a, which is on the 3/4 mark from full. Seems like no impact at first glance however there would be, but it's not enough to make the needle drop a bit wee bit more on the winter blend.

No worries. I'm still getting around 22mpg even with the cold weather and winter blend fuel. Was getting around 24 before the winter. And I don't drive slow...

those guys must be driving in really bad traffic (or something more significant is wrong).

I've had my IS350 for a bit over 4 years now, and excluding a couple times I was someplace for much of a tank with bad traffic I've never been under 20 avg for a tank... usually more in the 22-24 range for typical mixed driving. I get 28-30 all highway on road trips.

Biradors post mentions a lot of causes for lower mileage...winter fuel blend is another... and one he also left out- tire inflation. This can have a couple mpg impact depending how off you are.

Well... at 130 miles I am up to 19.5 mpg. It must be the aggressive driving from the wife. Does anyone know if California has winter blend fuel?

Yes up to 10% ethanol. The pump will have a label on it.

Yea, I generally do all city driving. Many stop and go's and never above 40 mph (and rarely hit that for very long), lol. That's why mine is about 17-18 mpg.

You'll get more than 20mpg go by mile actual driven not average mpg. I fill may tank not to long ago and fill up said 320. But I'm half tank mark trip odometer say 220mile on half tank. So you do the math.220x2=440 mile on full tank
