Default Burning smell in cabin at full throttle

First off Happy Holidays! Hope you guys had a great and memorable time with your loved ones.

Couple days ago when I was traveling to my aunt's house for the holidays I engaged in some spirited driving on the freeway with some other cars - namely another IS. I noticed there was a burning smell (not sure of what but I think its motor oil) in the cabin of the car whenever I had the accelerator down at full throttle. This is the first time this has ever happened. Later at a gas station I checked my oil level and it was half-full, and during the trip the oil maintenance reminder did turn on in the dash. Any idea what this is? Is it related to dirty engine oil? I have an '08 w/ 51k under CPO warranty. Thanks in advance.

When was the last time you had a oil change or changed your cabin filter? Are u positive the smell came from your car and not the car in front of you? Well if anything it is CPO if you're really concerned have the stealership take a look at it

Positive its my car because I accelerated at full throttle again later that night and the same thing happened.

Oil and cabin filter changed 7 months/5k miles ago - like I said the "oil maint req'd" light turned on during the trip. I have an appointment scheduled with my local Lexus dealer on the 29th.

I would look for a small oil leak near the exhaust. How was the temp gauge when this happened? Sometimes a small oil leak on to the exhaust will get burning oil smell into the air intake for the cabin.

I swear to God I got the same smell too and was wondering what happened to my car that day while sprinting hard. It was a strong pungent burning smell. in the interior cabin. But it just happened that once and never after that. But I probably never accelerated that hard too after that day.

Well anyways I have done my oil change just last month / 1000 km back. Will try heavy acceleration tomorrow while going to work and see if I get the same smell again.

Start documenting your oil consumption...sounds like bad blow-by caused by bad piston rings. Bummer.

lower blower motor from vent fan... Let me guess... Turn off your ac/heat... (But leave the out side air open just turn the fans off) do you still smell it after accelerating hard?
If yes then it's NOT your lower blower motor. If you don't smell it then it's probably your lower blower motor.

Jack up your car and look for a coolant leak. I recently had this problem and it ended up being the heater core
