I run a can through my gas tank with every oil change. Started doing it around 40k miles and it still runs smooth as glass.

So all the YouTube people say to change the oil around 200 after using this and to change the spark plugs. Do you really have to do al of this? Anybody just add to the 3 places and nothing else?

I use the NOS brand that basically does the same thing, definitely noticed a difference. I'll pick some of this up and see if I notice a difference between the two. The NOS bottle advertises passing BMW quality checks for the motor, which makes me feels safe.

I did this on my 04 V8 4runner and idle in the mornings Improved as it was running a bit rough.

I added it through the vacuum line but as others don't know where this line is on the IS.

Who's going to be the friendly person to circle it in the engine bay.

YouTube was no help

This has a pic of the intake vacuum line. Is this the correct intake hose or is it a different intake hose? I've seen differnt people use different ones.

That is definately not the correct vac line. Here is a picture with the correct one circled. I went by my local lexus dealer and they gave me some tips on DIY:

1.If possible, pick up a can of the spray seafoam and a "U-shaped spray tube". For this method, you could spray it directly into the throttle body. (this method is much safer because you dont have to worry about the risk of hydrolocking your engine)

2. If you decide to go the vac line route, make sure you pay attention to how fast your engine sucks up the seafoam, if its too fast, you could lock up your engine.

3. If you use seafoam spray, you can spray almost the entire can into the throttle bodies. If you go the vac line route, only use 1/3 of the can. the rest can go in the gas tank.
Seafoam is approved by Lexus mechanics. The technician informed me that when vehicles are brought in for their "high milage" checkups, they run seafoam through the throttle bodies and gastanks.

Pic: The blue is where the tube would go in and the intake would go back over it. Thats where the throttle bodies are located. The red is the vac line.

FYI: intake manifold vacuum is after the throttle body.

Don't do it before

Someone said earlier to pour it in the crank...

WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T DRIVE THE CAR WITH IT IN YOUR OIL

You can idle for a bit to get it up to temp but drain the oil immediately, fill up with a enough oil to get to the bottom of the dipstick and then run the engine for a while to clean out as much of the detergent as possible and then do a full fill with fresh oil and a fresh filter.

I know there is another thread (see: /496547-seafoam.html ) on seafoam around here and one of the members insisted that you can get the EXACT same results with water and essentially steam clean the head thereby decarbonizing. Also there is a Mopar decarbonizing product that someone else claimed their mechanics used to clean the backs on DI engines.

If you pour it in the oil and gas tank, you aren't going to hit the locations where this stuff is needed, at the valves. The problem with getting it to the valves, is that there isn't a vacuum fitting small enough diameter to cause a venturi strong enough to vaporize the fluid, and you'll get puddles of the stuff in your intake plenum, at least in the is250's. The 350s have a set of 2ndary injectors pre-head so it would work for them, but then again, they don't have the problems inherent to the 250 engine.

However, if you use some type of mister / spray system, it should work. I'm almost tempted just to add a water/meth injection to the pre-TB intake pipe just so that I can have my valves cleaned when I go 40+% throttle.
