When I changed my oil this weekend I had a scare as well. It was the first start up after the new oil and filter were installed. There was a loud "clicking" noise that lasted for a few seconds and went away. I have not heard it since even on cold start ups. I am assuming it was due to the draining of the oil and the engine taking a few seconds to pump oil throughout?

can you record the noise and post it here so we can hear what it sounds like?

Mine usually makes the sound whenever its really cold outside but it only lasts for a split second. But it usually stops for a while right after I change my oil.
