I tried this fix over the weekend and it did not work. Parts of the screen respond but not correctly. So I think the next thing for me is to get a new screen. Is this the correct one?:

Is this what people are buying? Can it be gotten cheaper?

After going through this thread again I decided that I will be trying to replace the digitizer first before I get a new screen. Is it hard to remove the old digitizer? If I can't do it and have to stick the new on on the top will it be noticeable?

So last night I figured if I'm going to have the dealership look at my failing NAV unit that it would be benefical that they see what I'm seeing doing my normal daily commute. So this morning I attached my GoPro to the sunroof glass and had it record the actions of the NAV unit during my 35 minute drive to work. As my luck would have it, it started doing it's normal routine of cutting on/off and resetting...plus some nice checkered white screens too. So I've spoken with my service advisor and he said email him the link to the video and it'll help out greatly when the car is in tomorrow for them to test the electrical systems and all.

I'll post the link to the vid on here once it is uploaded this evening.

Wish me luck! The car goes in tomorrow afternoon.

My screen just stopped responding to touch. Has anyone in the Phoenix area done this type of repair? Recently moved here and the Nav did not make it through one summer.

Never mind.

Lexus stepped up and did the repair for me...

Finally fixed my screen again this past weekend. Tried circuit writing and still no response. So I got the 7.3 digitizer from an eBay seller in the uk for 40 bucks. Super glued the new one on top of the old one and everything works now. For those doing the fix I recommend just going for a new digitizer and putting it on top or swapping it out entirely. Much quicker and easier than circuit writing

Just wanted to say a massive thanks to all parties that have provided information in this thread. This happened to my 06 IS250 and I followed the DIY to get it fixed.

My experience was far from smooth sailing. None of the vent tabs would click down when I was trying to remove the vent which made that pretty hard to get out. I was unable to read any resistances with my multimeter, so determining if the fix worked wasn't possible until putting everything back together. I'm going to attribute most of my troubles to inexperience, though. The guide seemed pretty spot on.

Thanks again!

Hey Dman,
I got mine fixed for 300 bucks at a place called Mobiletech in LA. 2229 Firestone Blvd., LA, Ca 90002
323-581-8366.
Easy to miss but near a McDonalds. Legit spot, my navi still works like a charm.
Tell them Anna sent you.

Default It worked!!

Just performed this fix on my 2007 is250 and after going a year without navi - SO excited to say it works!!

The instructions were well laid out, however since we were not experts with circuitry, we were a little hesitant. So the fix took us about two days with drying time. We were VERY careful with the entire process and made sure we hooked every cable back up step-by-step putting it back together.

Just some afterthought advice:
-We couldn't get a reading on any of the pins no matter what we tried so we went ahead and did all four. I freaked a little afterward thinking we probably screwed it up but after reading some of the later posts here, I see that several ppl are doing it now and the ones that didn't are now having to go back and do them all. SO for anyone planning to do this in the future, I would do all four.
-I was worried we got too much of the circuitwriter silver on it and that it bridged some of the connections so we cleaned it up with alcohol a little until we knew none of it was touching.
-We tried to get a reading after it dried and did but it was all over the place so at that point I really didn't think it was going to work.

BUT we plugged everything back in and once it loaded, it worked perfectly!!!

Default OHMs suggestions?

So my touch screen stopped working 2008 IS350. 6 months ago so I decided to tackle it this weekend. The stealer quoted 3500 to replace. I said HA!

so One of the connections had no resistance. After following the above posts' directions and using circuit writer and a dremel, liquid tape, reassembling and reinstalling the unit, the touch is 'off' as in when I touch a tab on the screen, I have to touch beneath the tab to activate the tab. Hence when tabs are on the bottom of the screen I can't activate them.
IDEAS ?
I have unistalled the whole unit again...
My resistance is 690 ohms and 1290 ohms...on the 1/3 , 2/4 pin.

thanks, guys!

My problem with the screens is that they are in dual mode and I cannot get it back to one single screen.
Any ideas?
