I have a 2008 IS250. Does anyone still do these repairs if I ship it out to them? Please Message me if you do. Thanks!

I was thinking about ordering a new digitizer from eBay for $35 or so. Will this take care of my problem? How hard is it to remove the digitizer? I've messed around with iPhone screens and know that removing a digitizer from the phone is extremely tough. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Goto Amazon. Search for IS250 digitizer. A company called Niutop sells a generic digitizer. With help from several different sites and blogs, I was able to fix my 2007 IS250.

Use a blow dryer to remove the OEM digitizer, same method as you do with smartphone. If you be careful, you might be able to reuse the glue tape. If not, get a 2mm 3M adhesive for smartphone application. Clean out the OEM tape before applying new one. That's it. Good luck.

Just want to give a huge thanks to whitebeast for fixing and reinforcing the screen. Went from thinking I'd be out $2500 to having a perfectly working screen. Thanks for also taking the time to walk me through the trouble areas and how to avoid more damage. You're the man!

I suspect it's the digitizer. Basically there's faulty connection on the cable flex. There's someone who claims he can fix it for $250, but I was able to fix it myself. So I'm unsure if he really knows it. I found him on Craigslist. Good luck.

Same problem I was having. It's a connection problem. Easy fix but I wasn't willing to fix it myself with the chance I might fry the screen. I was contacted by a member here in the Santa Ana area for a MUCH cheaper price than that. Don't pay that much! Screen works perfectly now.

so were you able to do it yourself or had someone else fix it for you? if so, how much did they charge?

I removed the screen from the vehicle and sent it out for repair. I will text him and have him PM you. I paid for shipping each way but depending on where in California you are, you might be able to meet up with him. He fixed the problem and reinforced it.

I'm experiencing a similar issue and would like some insight. My screen is not frozen, rather, anywhere I press (while on the map) will move the map south. On the other menus (climate, radio, destination, etc) I would not get a response. Has anyone experience something similar?

I did one change six months ago and that was swapping out the navigation DVD for a burned copy of a newer navigation DVD. It has worked flawlessly. Maybe this is culprit? Since I need to go into the menu and find the eject button, I can't swap the original in easily. Meanwhile, I'll look for a bypass and try to load the original DVD in.

This is a 2008 ISF

Any comment is welcome

That was the exact same problem I had. I could scroll on map but every other screen would not respond to the touch. It's fix is described in the beginning of this thread. If you do not feel comfortable attempting to repair the ribbon, try and find someone on here to do the fix. I paid for shipping to and from and threw him a little cash. Hope this helps.

my problem was the same. it was as if no matter where I pressed only one location would register. I say that because on one of the screens, if I pressed anywhere on the screen, the same button would activate. No other screen had a button in that location, as I recall. At least none that I could get to. So it looked like the digitizer was always sending the exact same coordinate no matter where I pressed. In any case, the DIY fixed it. That was more than a year ago, and it is still working.
