You can use a heatgun to melt the liner and push it back, giving you more clearance. I assume you're not rubbing on the bumper tab as you did not mention it. If you eventually do, you can bend the tab back and relocate the bolt.
Take some pic brian. I never had that issue at all. But I say keep on cause if the salt on the roads.
I just tried taking some pics with my iphone. Unfortunately its pretty hard to capture the damage, especially with the duct tape...

Yes, i do all of that. Im very careful. Some driveways are just impossible, no matter how slow i go. NY roads in general are a pain.

Thats an interesting idea. I'll be sure to mention this to my mechanic. Ill ask him to manipulate the piece with a heat gun before he decides he needs to replace the part. Thanks
