Do it yourself curb rash repair.... Anyone tried this?
#17
I am awaiting my can of "gunmetal gray" for my liquid graphite wheels on my IS250. I watched the guy at the dealer repair my wheels before I purchased my car. He sanded down the curd rash, then spray the wheels with spray paint. Forgot which one. But his seems like it would be it. I have to take care of another rash now. I have a dremel which I am going to sand/polish the wheel down with and the spray it with this paint:

Sorry for the lack of activity, but I've had a rough week. Got was off yesterday and installed my Tanabe axle back, but have worked 7 out of the last 8 days. Hard to find motivation to lay on the garage floor with sandpaper, going after curb rash at 10:00pm, LOL. Gonna get back on this within the next few days. I have already done the initial sanding, and applied the epoxy to fill the recesses. It really isn't that noticeable, which is why I have made this a "back burner" project. I have taken a few pics as I go, and will post them up when I get a little further along. I will tell you that it is more difficult than you would think to sand the lip of a wheel with a piece of sandpaper folded over three times though. Ugggh.....

hey i had the same issue, check out my thread. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...8-70-9hrs.html. If you're willing to spend 10 hrs(doing it yourself, be a lot faster if you have a helping hand) it will be a fraction of what the shop will charge you.
