Okay, now that I have your attention. I see that Permatex makes a kit for wheel repair, which basically consists of sandpaper, epoxy and paint, and claims that it will repair curb rash damage to wheels (Part#09142). I have done my due diligence searching the forum, but all results I found were in regards to paying for a wheel repair. This kit cost $20, and if it works as promised, would be a simple and very cost effective alternative to a wheel repair shop. I have yet to curb my car (though it will happen eventually, for sure), the damage to the front wheels was on them when I bought it a year and a half ago. I have finally gotten tired of looking at it. Not ready to buy a complete set of aftermarket wheels and not willing to pay $400 each for OE replacements for the fronts, I am looking at alternatives.... Just wanted to see if anyone had tried this yet and with what sort of result. I have used lots of Permatex products in the past and they are just about as reputable as 3M, meaning that if it doesn't work, you likely screwed it up. I am attaching pics of the damage. Looking for feedback before I go ahead with the "experiment".

Interesting...I might have to look into this as the previous owner of my 350 was some older lady that curbed all 4 wheels.

My damage isn't that bad, and the paint color is pretty close. I may just give it a shot.....

If the damage was less aggressive and I could actually find a touch up paint that matched my wheels I might give it a try. In your situation I would pay a professional to fix it.

Doesn't look too bad, if it's $20 then try it. It probably won't be a perfect, professional finish but it'll be better than how it is now and most likely hard to see unless you look at it closely... maybe you'll have to use a different paint since I very much doubt it will match the original paint color of the wheels

I recently curb rashed my wheel. Spot #1 was a 4" rub. Spot # 2 was a 2" rub. The dealer repaired the rashed spots and repainted the wheel for $69. The is the 2nd wheel they have done for me and I am extremely happy. The luster of the repainted wheels is not as shiny as factory paint but if I didn't point it out nobody would know.

Maybe they didn't clear coat it after painting? Either way, $69 is a great deal! I've already bought the kit and am gonna give it a shot. May work on the wheels some today, but way too cold here to paint, even with the heater going in the garage. Supposed to warm up this weekend though. I will update with pics of progress as I go.

I think it looks repairable. How abrasive is the sandpaper. Looks like you got one good nick in the pic. I think it's worth a shot for the price!!
