If your GF is REALLY into cars and actually "driving" them, then she will miss the fun-factor of that of the coupe. But...the 250 is really in a different category all by itself. I assume having AWD up there in PA will be cool though!

Default Make sure of CarFax and recalls

When you and your GF get serious about buying then make sure you spend the money and get CarFax even if it is reputable dealer and contact Lexus with the VIN or if a Lexus dealership is where you are buying that all the recalls have been done. You can find the recalls in the Forums section. Also find out what are the remainders of the warranties, I have a 2007 Lexus IS 350 (similar car except for engine) that I bought in June of 2011 at a non-Lexus dealership and the CarFax showed me a lot of information that the dealer did not share or did not know. I just took the car in over Christmas and come to find out NO recall work had been performed on the car since it was first sold in 2007. So make sure. As far as the car, the style is great, performance was better then the Infinity G37 & Acura TL I looked at. The electronics in the 06-10 are not much to say about. I just drove a 2011 ES350 loaner car with the new Nav and software update and they did a lot better with that, just wish there was a way of updating my Nav and screen output like you might update Microsoft OS.

Thanks everyone for posting. The awd will be very handy in PA, hands down the gen has more power then the 250 but gets 16/17 avrg mpg wich sucks. It's time for a change she has been having problems with it plus she wants a sedan and the 250 caught her eye. I don't know if we will be modding it but she said she wants in dropped when she gets it aha.

I have an 07 IS250 (not AWD, but regardless) and love it. I have a little over 65K on the odo with no major issues at all (with exception to a water pump which was replaced under warranty just last month). I have only done the basic services such as oil changes and such. So far problem free and drives like the day I bought it back in July of 07. The 250 is not all that fast but it does just fine. Pre-08's tend to have some body roll which is easily remedied with the F Sport sway bars. Factory sound system is great, though the Mark Levinson one (upgrade) is awesome and IMO worth it if you are an audiophile. Overall great daily driver that is fun and comfortable at the same time while getting good gas mileage.

The 250 is pretty nice, almost feels like a coupe in some ways, the back is a little to cramped, but it's alright because i never have people in the back. Just my wife and my self. Only issue I've had with it is the TPMS sensors. Reset the sensor and put the proper amount of air in the tires. Took it back to the dealer and they fixed it with no issues. It turned out to be a defective set of sensors. One of the perks of owning a Lexus is the services you get while your at the dealership getting your oil changed. The one I go to has a Starbucks type coffee shop in it and everything is free. "Lexus of Austin".

I would say that if you're looking at a used Lexus, you may think about getting one that is still under warranty, or an extended warranty. Lexus can be expensive to repair when compared to other cars I have owned.

I cross shopped many cars before getting my IS250, and the Genesis coupe was one of them.

I bought my IS from a Lexus dealer. It was in better shape than most of the other cars I had looked at, and the deal was just about as good after negotiating.

Get the 350. My wife absolutely refused the 250 after test driving it. There is a world of difference!
