I went from a 2010 IS250 RWD to a 2011 IS350 RWD and mine went up $7 per month. If your IS250 was more - was it an AWD? AWD is always higher ins costs.

Good point i found that out with my first IS

In my case my insurance went up 6 bucks a month.... im thinking the person that quoted you made a mistake and you should capitalize in this ASAP!

Interesting, but as we all know, insurance is all based on statistics..... and <warning: outlandish generalization> maybe the much fewer IS350 pilots out there are much more careful than the IS250 ones....

almost the same here... about $70/mo, 06 IS350 through Liberty Mutual ... was on State Farm and they kept raising my rates every year...

that's prob it... when I was car shopping the rates for a G35, 335i, IS250/350 were all around the same... I was paying more for my Acura TL than the IS350 and they said that was due to theft of the parts on it...

With our 350s, there aren't really a ton of mods that we can do to improve them.... thus, that probably turns away the "ricer thieves" from trying to steal OEM stuff. There isn't as big of a market for resale of hot OEM parts. Heck, they'd probably advertise on here and get busted!

Seriously (and statistically) speaking though, it literally pays (in the form of lower insurance premiums) to have safe drivers in your area that drive the same car that you have!! My IS350 costs significantly cheaper to insure than my IS300, and come to think of it, even less than my 1999 Honda Prelude (back in 2002).

To the OP - go for a 350. You won't regret it!

When I was getting the quote, it was for non-AWD is250. That was a surprise for me as I knew only ADD could have cost more but that is not the case. Definitely taking advantage of this when I get my isx50. Let's just hope the rate will be the same.
