Default Removing & Powering Illuminated Door Sills?

I'm hoping someone out there can help me - I just took delivery of a 2012 IS 350, and as part of the deal I made with Sewell Lexus, they threw in the blue illuminated door sills, but they told me up front it would be the parts only, since these door sills aren't plug & play for the 2012 350. I told them no big deal, I could install them myself and didn't mind if I had to splice into some wiring to get power to them.

Well, when they delivered my car, the sales guy said that he was trying to be nice and asked the guys who prepped it to go ahead and spend the time to install the door sills for me. Which was awesome. Except they don't light up. I still need to double check if maybe it's just the dome light switch isn't in the right position, which I read about here on CL, but I'm assuming that they basically just popped the door sills on and didn't wire them up.

So, I don't know for sure what I'm dealing with - I don't know if the wiring on the door sill side is still there and just not connected, or if they cut it off before installing it. I'm going to try popping the sills off and just checking things out tonight, but if anyone has any experience/advice on removing & reinstalling the sills or the wiring involved in powering them, I'd appreciate it. The sales guy suggested I call the service department and ask to speak with the guy who installed it to find out what he did and what still needs to be done, but I'm thinking it'll be simpler just to fix it up myself. Hopefully.

Thanks for any help/advice!

Check the "door" button first.

If It doesn't light up its time to splice

Welcome and congrats on the new ride. I hear they are not plug and play. I had my stereo shop wire mine up to the door lights. Easy to do. I think there may be a DIY on here also.

I think someone else said you have to make sure the door light switch is set to turn on when door is opened.

No dice on the switch - I tried every combination of settings on the door dome light switch + the main vehicle light switch. So, it looks like they just didn't wire them up at all. Do the sills just pop off? Anything I should be careful about/aware of before I go popping them off?

What probably happened is that they plugged the harness up but didn't realize it still takes additional wiring.

Thanks, guys. I'm guessing you're right, brociouz, so I'll read through that thread - thanks for the link! I'll let you guys know what happens...
