Default Oil Change / Oil Filter Removal Tools

I just changed the oil on a 2007 IS350. I bought this tool from Lexus dealership. It fits pretty well, but could be better.

Is there a better tool? What do you guys use?
Where can I buy the tool that dealership actually use to change the oil filter??? Don't want to wear or strip the oil filter housing. What is part number?? And where to get it for cheap?

Anyone use the Assenmacher Specialty Tools TOY 640 Oil Filter Housing Cup Wrench for Toyota/Lexus? Thoughts and suggestions?

Anyone use the Fumoto oil drain plug? If so, N-series or the regular F-103 ball valve plug? How do you like it? Any issues?

I use the Assenmacher wrench. It's ok but tough to get off the housing.
I've read tap with a peen hammer or wrench and the vibration will let it release.
I'll try that on the next change.
I still prefer a spin on filter.
I've used the Fumoto valves for many years on many vehicles and never buy the nipple version.Great piece.

I changed my oil yesterday and installed the Fumoto drain valve you have pictured. The only concern that I have is when tightened the lever is on the bottom so it sticks out there. I was hoping when it tightened it would be up and out of the way.

I also used the $19.00 filter wrench from Sewell Parts http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...2010/4991.html This wrench had a very tight fit, so much that I had to tap it on there with the socket wrench and reversely tap it off again when I was done. I don't understand why there is not a precise fit tool for this. Maybe the $50.00 chrome one from Sewell is better but that is a lot of cheese to spend on a filter wrench.

Anyway, all went well and she is full of golden synthetic goodness. So clean it is hard to read the dipstick

It feels good when you know that your car has nothing but brand new oil

Responding to neomedic, I always just use a regular cap wrench and it works just fine. Not really any need for any of those other special tools

I have a fumoto valve and love it. Had one on my previous ride as well. Great investment if you DIY your oil changes.

Assenmacher tool is just fine. I have used Fumoto valves for years. Zero problems.

I bought the Assenmacher. Not too expensive and don't have to be worried about being stripped like the plastic cap wrench.

I use the CTA tool as well. No need to pay for the cast aluminum one.
