Default Flyaudio gps screen freeze and fitment issue

So I installed my flyaudio unit about a week ago and I love it. But I have some minor issues. I ordered it off of ebay and when I recieved it, it didnt have the mini sd card. So I used my own sd card and loaded a gps program. But it didnt work..Now when I turn the unit on and hit the navi button, it goes to a blank screen. The top of the screen has a scrambled like that goes across it.

Also, after I hooked everything up and put the unit in the dash, i found that I couldnt get the vents to fit back in. Theres about a tenth of an inch of lip that goes over the top of the unit from the vents..almost like the nav unit was too tall. Anyone else have any issues like these? I really want to get this fixed.

ok try this to start the unit. before you start the engine, put one of your finger in the middle of the screen and start the engine and continue to press on the screen. then you can calibrate your unit by a tap on the upper left corner then the lower right corner. see if that works

That doesn't look good.
Were you getting this scrambled screen before inserting your SD card? What happens when you pull out the SD card?

On the fitment issue, I got a 2-mm gap on the right side. Ohter than that, it fit fine.

Your issue may be caused from using mismatched model with your car (06-08 is different for 09-10 model)

No. I wasnt getting the scrambled screen at all before I inserted the SD Card. Any way of reseting the whole unit?

Well now I'm just pissed! I thought they were pretty much universal and when I bought it I figured crap like this wouldn't happen.

If this is the first Gen model you may want to update the Bios and see if it fixes it.
I had a similar issue except it was not uploading the nav from the original sd card. I reinstalled the Bios and it fixed my issue.

Here is the instruction on how to do the install .
http://www.flyaudio.us/forum/12-tech...e-instructions

and the bios software is here .

Hope it helps.

You may want to send flyaudio a email and see if they can send you the bios software so you can reinstall it. The link i posted is only for the Ist Gen model.

If it's a second Gen I beleive those already come loaded with the latest Bios. You may want to try formating the SD card and reloading the GPS sofware on it.

Also what GPS software are you using and are you sure it's copatible with the flyaudio unit.

Well I wasn't sure what gps software to use but I read that igo8 worked well so I downloaded it from a torrent (not sure if that was legit) and used it. Could you pm me a good link to get a good gps software with maps?

Not all Igo8 software works on the flyaudio unit, also per forum rules I can not tell you where to download this at but if you google it I'm sure you'll find it.
